With millions of Americans believing that intentional cruelty is something to be celebrated, the times can make us doubt ourselves. Is there something wrong with us?
No. We are the normal people who live in reality. We are the decent people whose basic human concepts of right and wrong are still intact — those normal ethical sensibilities that most healthy children develop by age ten.
We think that it’s wrong to poke fun of brain cancer. We think that it’s wrong to demean victims of attempted homicide with blunt objects, and spread lies about the victims. We think that it’s wrong to laugh at the victims of a serial killer, when he had not even been caught yet.
We are the normal people that all good parents raised us to be.
We think that it’s wrong to ridicule people with disabilities. We think that it’s wrong to deliberately legalize bullying – but only when we’re the ones doing the bullying.
When an innocent man is abducted by ICE and sent to a torture prison for a month, we think that it’s an urgent evil that requires immediate correction and warrants some kind of retribution if not rectified immediately. We don’t shrug it off or ignore court orders to return him to the United States.
We think that it is wrong to teach children that being foul-mouthed and vulgar is acceptable.
We think that it’s wrong to abuse children. The very term “break a child’s will” elicits a potent, sickened revulsion in our non-psychopathic souls. We think that it’s wrong to pardon a child rapist and tell the rapist that he would be welcome in the outgoing governor’s church.
It sickens us because we’re normal people.
We normal people believe that being openly racist and hurling racial slurs and epithets is wrong, not to mention unpresidential. We know that because we’re normal people, most of whom were raised by good parents.
We normal people think that it’s absolutely sick in the head for a MAGA to tweet “we didn’t kill enough Indians” in response to a video by an indigenous college professor.
We normal people think that it’s mentally diseased to set fire to Ken and Barbie dolls because someone hates the human message in a movie.
We normal people believe that it’s absolutely cruel and evil to lecture immigrants to come here legally, and then literally wait in ambush for immigrants as they depart from court hearings whose purpose IS EXACTLY THAT: going through the legal process.
We think that it’s sickening for armed troops to march through a park for no apparent purpose other than to traumatize children and adults by their presence. We normies actually feel for the children that MAGA claims to be the guardians of, but use them as pawns and props instead.
We are the normal people. We are the decent people who still possess the basic senses of right, wrong, and human empathy that normally developing children possess by age ten.
And don’t ever let a MAGA monster cause you to doubt that.

[…] normal, decent people must make it impossible for Trump to make a public appearance ever again. […]
