Far right theologian R. C. Sproul, Jr., is accused of non-consensual wife-spanking and some really despicable child-rearing methods such as “blanket training.” (The blanket training story involves the Duggar family – another MAGA household – but explains blanket training very well.) (If your stomach can take it. It sure wasn’t easy for me.)

Was it by chance, irony or subconscious confession that he wrote a piece for an obscure theocratic outlet called The Covenant Pulpit titled “How May I Hurt You Today?”

Sin is supposed to hurt

In a 1998 email submitted to a listserv where Reformed theologians and students gather, a fundamentalist physician confesses to the group that he knowingly chose to give a patient a “painful shot” instead of a painless antibiotic pill to protect against the possible development of a sexually transmitted disease. His reason? To help the patient “remember the consequences of his sin.”

MAGA vs. the Statue of Liberty

A little-known but rather influential MAGA extremist insists that the Statue of Liberty is an unbiblical pagan symbol.

When you read the bottom of the linked page, you’ll see why – along with his whopping confession that MAGA has redefined “liberty” to mean something exactly the opposite of how normal people define it:

“But worse than the statue itself, is the wicked view of liberty the statue represents and that most Americans adore.  It is **not** liberty as the Bible defines it, but liberty free of obedience to Christ and Christ’s Law.”

As I recently pointed out, what MAGA calls “liberty,” normal people would more likely call brutal tyranny.

(Side note: Note his use of the term “Romanism.” The term “Romanist” or “Romanism” is a biting slur used to disparagingly refer to the Roman Catholic Church, not unlike how the N-word is used to refer to African-Americans, or how the K-word is used to hatefully refer to Jews. To Catholics out there: MAGA will someday come for you, too.)
