Continuing this series, I will compare Trump and MAGA tactics and behaviors with methods detailed in an actual psychological profile of Adolf Hitler.

1. His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off.
2. Never admit a fault or wrong.
3. Never concede that there may be some good in your enemy.
4. Never leave room for alternatives.
5. Never accept blame.
6. Concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong.
7. People will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.

Dehumanization is an essential ingredient in fascism, and MAGA is on a par with Nazi Germany with the intensity in which they dehumanize both individuals and entire groups of people.

Washed up rocker Ted Nugent’s likening of Democrats and educators to “rabid coyotes” is not at all uncommon among the MAGA activist base. In fact, it’s pretty normal for people like Cuoy Griffin, a January 6th insurrectionist who never learned to spell his own first name and whose statement that “the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat” was retweeted by Trump himself.

Or try this blood-curdling hate speech on for size: ““Conservatism” is no Longer Enough.” Excerpt: “I’m really referring to the many native-born people—some of whose families have been here since the Mayflower—who may technically be citizens of the United States but are no longer (if they ever were) Americans. They do not believe in, live by, or even like the principles, traditions, and ideals that until recently defined America as a nation and as a people. It is not obvious what we should call these citizen-aliens, these non-American Americans; but they are something else.”

Democrats and minorities: If you haven’t yet warmed up to the Second Amendment, I’d seriously look into it, because the Second Amendment in the hands of people with five times the IQ of the average MAGA grunter is the only deterrent that these aspiring killers understand.

Sometimes this attitude is expressed a little less directly, but is clear nonetheless. MAGA propagandist Dinesh D’Souza, producer of the “stolen election”-lie movie “2000 Mules,” blamed America for the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in his hate tome “The Enemy At Home.” D’Souza described the “cultural Left” (read: Americans who believe in individual liberty) as “the enemy at home,” and all but excused the terrorists who attacked the World Trade Center, sympathizing with the terrorists’ outrage at “decadent” American culture and arguing that Americans should throw away their liberties so that these Middle Eastern terrorists won’t get mad at us anymore.

October, 2018: Trump goes on racist tirade, hurling an anti-Native American slur at Elizabeth Warren and dehumanizing many others by name.
October, 2018: Trump calls Democrats “evil” and dehumanizes opponents as “low IQ.”
October, 2018: Trump calls news media the “enemy of the people.”
2016: Sponsored ad by “Army of Jesus” calls Hillary Clinton a “Satan” and “evil.”
2022: Georgia Rep. Buddy Carter pours dehumanizing hate on “liberals.”

But this particular Hitlerian attitude can be even less explicit than that, yet it is still just as real. When MAGA refuses to compromise with others, even when it would mean enacting some of their own policy ideas, it amounts to a refusal to admit that any good exists in “the other.”

“GOP base: Never compromise!” With MAGA, the hate begins with the grassroots.

“Republicans from sharply conservative House districts have won recent elections by promising to “never compromise.” Again, the hate comes from the ground up, the result of decades of hate media amassing devotees who have internalized an ideology of total destruction of “the other.”

“Compromise: Truth’s Worst Enemy.” The listed hate group American Family Association came right out and said it.

“GOP senator doesn’t want to pass a tax bill because it could make Biden ‘look good’” Sen. Chuck Grasshat’s ideology of total destruction.

“Mercy Culture Church Pastor Landon Schott: ‘You’re not a Christian if you vote for a Democrat’” Translation: you’re not a good person if you vote for a Democrat.

That was Hitler’s third rule: total, complete dehumanization and refusal to acknowledge any trace of good in the other. At all.
