Lest We Forget: In Charlie Kirk’s Words

It can be so easy to wish for the worst things to befall some people when doing so feels safe in the abstract space of imagination and fantasy. The Left continuously deludes themselves into believing that Trump’s demise is “just a few Big Macs away,” when in fact Trump is as healthy as a varsity quarterback. Trump will likely outlive the Sun itself – leaving him alone in the universe, with no one left to hurt, bully, lie about, blame for his wrongdoings, or sue.

But when something as terrible as the shooting of Charlie Kirk actually happens, and after seeing the video of it happening, no way. No way. Just awful. That’s when it suddenly becomes reality.

I watched the video once. I could not watch it again.

However.

Many on the Right are portraying Charlie Kirk as an angel and a courageous fighter for good akin to Martin Luther King, Jr. Nothing could be further from the truth. Therefore, it is important to remember the terrible, hateful things that Charlie Kirk has said over the years. He didn’t deserve to be shot for an unpopular opinion, and his family did not deserve to be traumatized, but it is a disservice to gloss over the vicious things that he has said over the years.

With no further ado:

Charlie Kirk said in a social media post that “Islam is the sword the left is using to slit the throat of America.

Charlie Kirk has called for Joe Biden to be put to death: “Joe Biden is a bumbling, dementia filled, alzheimer’s, corrupt tyrant who should honestly be put in prison and or given the death penalty for his crimes against America.”

Charlie Kirk has said on his show that “The great replacement strategy, which is well under way every single day in our southern border, is a strategy to replace white rural America with something different.” The “Great Replacement Strategy” is a conspiracy theory held by white supremacists.

Charlie Kirk said that prominent Black women “do not have the brain processing power” to be taken seriously: “If we would have said that Joy Reid and Michelle Obama and Sheila Jackson Lee and Ketanji Brown Jackson were affirmative action picks, we would have been called racists. Now they’re coming out and they’re saying it for us … You do not have the brain processing power to otherwise be taken really seriously. You had to go steal a white person’s slot to go be taken somewhat seriously.”

Charlie Kirk implies that a smaller proportion of white people will be the downfall of America: “The American Democrat party hates this country. They wanna see it collapse. They love it when America becomes less white.

Charlie Kirk called on an “amazing patriot” to bail David DePape out of jail. DePape is the man who attacked Nancy Pelosi’s husband with a hammer in their own home: “And why is he still in jail? Why has he not been bailed out? By the way, if some amazing patriot out there in San Francisco or the Bay Area wants to really be a midterm hero, someone should go and bail this guy out.” He added, “Why is the Republican party — why is the conservative movement to blame for gay, schizophrenic, nudists that are hemp jewelry makers, breaking into somebody’s home or maybe not breaking into somebody’s home?”

Charlie Kirk described executing gays by stoning as God’s “perfect law.” Kirk called the stoning verse, “God’s perfect law when it comes to sexual matters.”

Charlie Kirk called for overturning hate crime convictions against LGBTQ+ Americans: “While we’re talking about flags, we should work to overturn every conviction for those arrested, fined, or otherwise harassed for the “hate crime” of doing donuts over Pride flags painted on public streets.”

Charlie Kirk used the slur form of “Democratic Party” to utter this vicious vomiting of hate speech: “The Democrat Party supports everything that god hates … I hope you give a Sunday sermon and you talk about how the Democrat Party believes everything that god hates.”

Charlie Kirk ran a website designed to target college professors for doxxing and harassment, leading to criminal threats: https://www.bostonglobe.com/2025/04/04/nation/professor-watchlist-academics-fear/

Charlie Kirk has opined that a ten-year old who had been raped should be forced to bear the child: “”It is a growing consensus in the pro-life world that abortion is never medically necessary,” he told one female student, who then asked, if someone raped his hypothetical 10-year-old daughter, would he want the child to be born. “The answer is, yes, the baby would be delivered,” he said.” (CBC)

Charlie Kirk had these sexist remarks about Taylor Swift: “Reject feminism. Submit to your husband, Taylor. You’re not in charge.  And most importantly, I can’t wait to go to a Taylor Kelce concert. I can’t say it without laughing. You’ve got to change your name. If not, you don’t really mean it.”

Political violence may be evil, but it does not wash away sins.
