Don’t Be Cowed by AI

(Or, don’t let intellectual laziness masquerade as an artificial outward appearance of hyper-knowledge.)

Suddenly, everyone’s doing it. Using lazy tools like Perplexity or Copilot may look impressive enough to intimidate most people from even challenging what had been presented.

AI is insidious on every level – Nothing about it has the general public as its fiduciary responsibility.

AI merely enables flawed or even bad information to take on an appearance of unassailable authority. Per the linked article below, “Large language models confidently state falsehoods as facts, particularly when there are no supporting facts.”

AI is clearly being marketed to the masses for a premeditated purpose. Suddenly, everything is AI-this and AI-that.

Most of it is just a next-generation algorithm equipped with a language processor and a way to improve itself. Supposedly.

AI has its uses. It can lead you to good information sources that are not easily found by a Google search.

But AI is no substitute for expertise in a profession or a field of study, and it has no grasp of underlying motives or the nuances that can indicate the existence of such motives.

Be wary of the motives behind anything that is suddenly being pushed on us with such ubiquity and saturation.
