Dear “MAGA Indians”: Welcome to the Reality of what MAGA Thinks About You

I was stunned, and in fact in denial for a while, over just how many pro-fascist Indians are out there. By Indians, I don’t mean Native Americans or First Nations. I mean people from India.

It’s safe to say that there are 100 times more pro-fascism Indians in this country than most people realize. I was stunned. I was deeply saddened, because I really do not like feeling prejudice, but I confess that I may be succumbing to it.

But take a look at Trump’s cabinet picks and most avid fans, and count all of the Indian faces among them. Your jaw will drop. Trump’s pick to lead the FBI, Kash Patel, is an Indian fascist. Tulsi Gabbard, though not Indian, is highly sympathetic to Modi’s fascist regime in India.

And who can forget that anti-LGBTQ obsessive Vivek Ramaswamy? Vivek spends every waking hour brooding over how much he utterly hates those people.

Pro-fascist Indians. There are a hundred times more of them that most American realize.

Then there is former Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal, looking so harmless and non-suspect with his “meek minority” look. Yet even he is in the running for a Trump cabinet position. Never forget that Bobby Jindal, along with Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee, attended a far right candidate forum in Des Moines, Iowa, whose host proclaimed on stage that LGBTQ people should be put to death.

To my knowledge, only Ted Cruz repudiated those remarks, though it took him a long time to do so.

Yep, there are a lot of pro-fascist Indians out there. Enough to now make me feel suspicious of them. I hate to admit it, but I am. Does that make me a racist? I don’t think so, because I yearn to be shown that my perceptions are badly misplaced. I don’t search for reasons to cling to bigotry. Racists do. I search for excuses not to believe it, and I still want to be shown that I am wrong. But I am now suspicious and wary of them, and I would love to be wrong. I pray that I am.

MAGA Civil War Erupts as Trump Backers Turn on Vivek Ramaswamy Over H-1Bs — hey Vivek, MAGA doesn’t want any more of “your kind” in this country. His recent rant against America didn’t win him any MAGA friends, either.

But why should that bother MAGA? MAGA has been heaping hate on America since the 1990s, and for some of the same reasons. MAGA backers even wrote songs and books that bash the daylights out of America.

MAGA took exception because, this time, the America-bashing came from someone who is, to them, an outsider, a “dark-skinned outsider with a foreign religion.”

That’s the difference.

So, dear pro-fascism Indians: MAGA doesn’t want you. They hate you just as intensely as you hate LGBTQ people. MAGA will use you; they’ll appeal to your worst grunt-level instincts, but they will never accept you.

And, mark my words: When MAGA gains total power, MAGA will come after you, too.
